for those who may not be aware--took this off another board:

"several manufacturers are jumping on the DIR bandwagon. They are offering "long Primary hoses" that are in fact long OCTO hoses. The difference you ask? Octos are not as heavily re-inforced as a true primary hose and can/will kink if bent, cutting off air at the worst (like theres a best) possible moment. Check with your shop and compare pressure ratings before buying one. Best rule of thumb is that if it floats like a cheap air raft it is probably an octo.
