The Scuba Cops are now saying that diving a steel tank in a wet suit is bad for some cockamamie reason. If that reason has already been posted I missed it. I know you kids don't like us elder divers giving you scuba history lessons, but I dove double steel 72's in a wet suit and horse collar BC for over twenty years with no bouyancy problems whatsoever. So what's the big deal? Why is neoprene and steel suddenly hazardous to our health? Let me guess the no-brainer reason: wet suits lose their bouyancy the deeper we dive. So blow some air into your BC, kid. I can hear the Scuba Cops now: "WHAT IF YOUR BC MALFUNCTIONS?" Even if you puncture the bloody thing, expanding air in it will control bouyancy as you/I/we ascend.
And BTW, steel 72's are making a comeback in lieu of aluminum. So if you're afraid of the Scuba Cops, kids, run out and buy yourself an expensive dry suit...BUT WHAT IF IT FAILS?! And on and on and on, ad nauseum. Flame away.
