"But remember, a lot of what makes you good, you learned as a solo diver.
Things that taught you how to handle problems, and be self reliant."
one issue that i have w/so-called 'dir' is that
the philosophy is completely against self sufficiency/
self reliance (unless something has changed w/in
the past year on this issue).
'dir' advocates COMPLETE RELIANCE on another diver
which i just see as a bit more dangerous than trying
to be as self sufficient as possible--even w/in
a buddy system. one small example: i like the
idea of a redundant air system, but 'dir' is
totally against that...why...?
one just never knows what is going to happen when,
and why in God's name should i entrust my life
to someone else...and why should that buddy entrust
his/her life to me??!!
"You seem to have this black or white outlook. But life just isn't that simple."
excellent point.
