I was against the closure of areas and had hoped that through education, species specific controls, size and bag limits that we could accomplish the goals. Now that the areas will be closing I feel that the DFG should consider closing the areas to scuba diving as well as the fishing ban in order that those areas produce the maximum benefit. Dropping a boat load of divers on a site even if they are rubber neckers will be disruptive to the ecosystem as it attempts to recover. Consider the logistics of closing some if not all of these areas to all anchorage and diving in addition to the fishing ban. Counter points welcome.
